Schneider Deli Brings Its Pastrami Stack to Lincoln Park
The beloved Jewish-style deli from the Ohio House Motel opened its second location at 1733 N. Halsted on April 1, 2026 — and this one's twice the size, with a full coffee bar and extended hours. Lincoln Park just got a proper deli, and it's not messing around.
Mayor Johnson Cut the Ribbon. Old Town Got a Chophouse.
The L Station Chophouse opened March 30 at 455 W North Ave in Old Town — and Mayor Brandon Johnson showed up for the ribbon-cutting. The owner already runs the original L Station soul food spot in the Loop. This second concept goes upscale: prime steaks, Miami-Vegas vibes, dinner only. Ward 2 just got a lot more expensive.
134 New Licenses Filed in Ward 2 — a 1,229% Weekly Surge
Ward 2 (Lincoln Park/Old Town/Near North) recorded 134 new business license filings in a single week — nearly 13 times its recent average of 10 — the second-largest spike in the city.
